Kaden's 5th Month

I can't believe that Kaden is already 6 months/half of a year old!  I feel like time goes by even faster with a baby.  Maybe it's because I am counting the months and milestones and looking forward to what he will be able to "do" next, etc.  At Kaden's 6 month appointment he weighed 21 lbs 7 oz, which puts him up in the 97th percentile now for weight, and he was 27.5 inches tall and in the 85th percentile for height.  This means our boy is getting more chunky and full of squeezable rolls but not growing as tall as he is wide haha... Kaden is taking after his mama as a baby!

This past month, Kaden finally rolled over from his tummy to his back and from his back to his tummy!  He is an "expert" at it now, but he still doesn't prefer to stay on his tummy for too long, so he just rolls over quickly to get himself on his back.  Kaden mostly sits while playing now.  We can tell that Kaden wants to move and crawl like his older cousin, but he obviously can't yet.  When he reaches for a toy, he gets himself in a crawling position, but then falls to the ground and ends up on his tummy which is pretty funny.  Kaden has been sleeping on his side for most of his naps, but stays on his back at nighttime.  My thought on why he does this is because he has a harder time going down for his naps, and tries to fight napping by turning on his side, but then falls asleep that way.  At bedtime, Kaden is really good about going to bed right away so he stays on his back.  This is just my guess, but it sure has been different to see him sleeping on his side.

Bathing Kaden has become very difficult for us this month.  Kaden absolutely loves baths, but he is too big for his small baby bath, and I don't want him sitting by himself in the tub yet, so lucky John gets to go in the tub and hold Kaden while I wash him.  John actually has enjoyed it and usually takes a bath himself afterwards.

Other Notes:
-We are still giving Kaden a variety of solids.  I think his favorite food so far has been sweet potatoes.
-Kaden continues to laugh and smile a lot!  He loves to listen to music.  It is so funny how much Kaden loves the song, "What Does the Fox Say."
-Kaden doesn't have any teeth yet, but he sure loves to drool still!  I feel like he could fill a whole gallon full of drool in a day!
-He really seems to be too big for his car seat, and we need to think about getting a new one for him sometime soon...It is tricky getting him in and out easily these days.
