Kaden's 8th Month

I am posting this 8th month blog post late because Kaden's 9 month appointment was today, so 11 days after he actually turned 9 months.  He is in the 95th percentile for both height and weight now.  He is 30 inches tall and weighs 23 lbs 10 oz.  He still is our cute big boy!  He also had to get his blood drawn today, and he didn't shed one tear-Crazy!  He did sooo good!  I wonder how long that will last?!

In Kaden's 8th month of life, he hasn't really done too many NEW things.  The skill that Kaden did learn is how to stand up on his own without holding on to something.  Other than that, he is just getting better at the skills he already knew how to do like crawling, walking with a push toy, side stepping along the couch or table, standing up, etc.  Also, I don't think I have already mentioned before, but Kaden definitely knows his name, and has for a while now.

Another month gone by and still no teeth for Kaden. Kaden has decided that he would rather feed himself these days.  And when he does, he is a huge mess!!!  I have tried giving him his own spoon to hold, which usually ends up on the floor a few seconds later or we end up in a spoon fight/sword fight haha.  In reality, the first few minutes of eating he does pretty good, but after a little while the craziness kicks in.  Also, when he drinks his water, he spits it all over, and it goes everywhere.  He has been doing this for a while, but this month it has gotten even more messy!  After today's doctor visit though, I can't believe how many solids he is supposed to have.  I guess I didn't realize that he needed so much- 3 meals and 2 snacks a day!  I have been giving him 2 occasionally 3 meals a day, and a bunch of cheerios and yogurt for snacks, and that still seemed like a lot to me.  He is just growing up so fast.  I am excited to start giving Kaden more finger food.  The doctor said even though he doesn't have teeth he can still eat small finger foods.  This should make things easier since he loves to feed himself!

Kaden has been getting into trouble, which isn't too surprising since he is a baby.  He loves to play with anything and everything that is not a toy!  He loves cords, pulling on the vents, phones, paper, napkins, blinds, shoes, climbing up on stools, and anything that's not a toy!  He is a very active boy, and is always up to something!

In Kaden's 8th month of life, we traveled to Omaha over the Easter weekend, which I already blogged and posted pictures about our time there.  John and company also had been working hard at redoing our retro kitchen.  I want to post pictures and blog about the kitchen when it's completely done, but now that its functional...the last few things probably won't get done until summer...or who knows when... John and I also had bachelor/bachelorette parties this month, so Kaden's Memo and Papa watched him for a night.

My First Mother's Day

On Mother's Day, we went to the Botanic Gardens.  We have been going there with the Lindahls for many years now on Mother's Day.  We eat a delicious brunch at the cafe and walk around looking at all the beautiful flowers.  The weather was gorgeous, and we went early enough so there weren't too many people.
